I can confirm that the VX Sensor which was available for all the VX range except VX 7000, and was to allow remote control of them when connected to a non B&O TV, works great with Beoport! Mine cost £11.50 on eBay.

The IR eye is for IR commands only.

In fact there is two types of IR receiver, one with switches and one without.

The Beoport IR without switches part number 8087030 looks as below

The wiring is as you have seen on Beocentral as below

It is for IR commands only.... no actual button functionality.

Hi Craig,

I think you are right about Beolink Active and Passive. We could see on wiring diagram for MasterLink in BeoTech pages:

That IR eye has 5-core cable and mini DIN connector.

I'm just surprised that I can't find any information that explicitely states that IR eye for BeoPort is for IR commands only.

Not 100% sure, but I believe the buttons are for when you use the same sensor with a Beolink Active or Passive. when connected to a PC2 it just recieves IR commands and nothing else.

Hi everybody,

I bought IR eye for my Beolink PC2 recently.

It comes as a silver disk with 5 buttons and a 3-core cable with 3.5 jack (and a wiring diagram of cause).

The matter is: IR signals come through to Beoplayer OK, but no one IR eye button affects Peoplayer regardless of any Beolink option (0,2,4,6).

Does anyone know whats wrong?
