Dario, I'm afraid that 'explicit detail' might get me banned from these forums.

In short, you need an ATV, an Avant-US or BeoSystem 1, BeoSystem 3, BeoVision 7 or 9. In the case of the first two (mine is an Avant) you will need ccdb 4.7j in whichever version best matches your firmware. In the case of the latter 3, you will want to check your 'Connections' menu for iPod Dock. I have looked at software 3.0 and 4.24, and both show this choice.

Decide if you'll use Component video or HDMI, add an IR-flasher and you're done.

Please - DO NOT connect your BV7 to 380V !!

In Denmark are 230 V as in most countries in Europe.

No worries ... I didn't reply to that ...

However I do have the iPodRemote installed ... and everything is definitely unpaired ... and Beo4-control of the Humax works fine ... and I have tested all possible AV:s with their associated PUCs and VMEM and all the others as well ....

The BeoDane also told me that they have 380V in Denmark. So maybe 220V it's just too low for my BV7. I'll try that ... Bye for now and thanx for your patience ...

I think your dealer must be unaware of the ipodremote software mod.

Well as I said ... the AppleTV is definitely unpaired ...

However, I think I've finally got some valid info. A guy from B&O Denmark just called and told that the very specific PUC-version I have translates Beo4 IR into death-rays. He strongly recommended me to move all valuable Apple-computers to the basement.

1. My BeoVision 8 has two ir-control sockets, identified in the menu as SC1 and SC2. These provide translated signals for a variety of peripheral units, and let you control them.

2. You'll need the ir-eye connector kit (just a cable with a minijack at one end, and an ir-eye at the other. You place the ir-eye across the ir-eye on the AppleTV. (Don't cover it entirely, as you may want to be able to use the Apple remote for some reason. Leave a little showing underneath the B&O ir-eye you're affixing to the AppleTV.

3. Make sure your BeoVision has the software installed that lets it control the "ipodremote" - this will let you send the appropriate signals to the AppleTV (or another Mac device that understand ipodremote.) Your dealer can configure this if it's missing. In the BeoVision's menu go to Connections, and then to the AV port you've connected the AppleTV to - there you'll find IR SOCKET. Pick the socket you have connected the ir-eye minijack to, and pick ipodremote after you press GO with your Beo4.

When this is stored, you should be able to control the AppleTV with your Beo4.

I have a BV8, I selected Ipod Remote - made sure ATV is unpaired - and it works like a charm.

I think you have to have a current STB software, it may even be that one works and a later one doesn't. Beocare confirmed for my BV8 that it can control the ATV. It might be beneficial if you contact them and ask them which version would support that. They can find out from product management, it took them a bit though.

And a silly question: your ir-connector is in the right port on your BV-7? My BV8 has two ports, and I wasn't sure which was 1 and which was 2. Of course I picked the wrong one when I first set up.

I think it is very important to unpair the apple remote, because apple remote sends different codes if paired. The PUC doesn`t control your appletv, it just translates Beo IR codes into apple (NEC) codes. So it won`t detect the codes if paired.

First thing: make sure your apple remote is unpaired.

Second: take a camera or a mobile phone and check whether the codes are sent by the PUC. You dont have to take photos, you can see the ir command at the ir emitter looking through the camera when you press a button on the Beo4 that matches the apple remote.

There is no reason why thw beo4 shouldn't work. I guess that as mentioned it is to do with the Apple remote still being paired to your ATV.

There is loads of info on pairing and unpairing remotes on the the web, and I would really look nto this before slating B&O software too much.

If the STB setup is correct you should at least see the light on the ATV flash when you hit buttons on the Beo4. If you do and yet it isn't working, I would definataley look at the pairing issue

Well, unpairing I have tried - with no luck. However, pairing the deaf? AppleTV with the dumb? Beo4 was beyond my brain capacity
