I'm sure I'll be here with more than a few questions about vintage B&O gear. I also have a "Beomaster 900" that I intend to refurb (gifted to me along with a set of BeoVox 2200 speakers).

In the interim, I pulled the DIN, a 5 pin, and mine has brown, red, yellow and blue wires along with a copper stranded ground wire and another stranded shield wire.

Two of the wires (yellow and brown) were broken off inside the DIN plug - which may or may not have been my fault during dissassembly (is that a word?)

The only info I found was that the red and brown may have been the "+" wires while the stranded copper would have been the common ground. The yellow and blue might have something to do with some sort of other control function.

Everything terminates inside the unit in a molded pin connector with the wiring, from left to right as viewed from the front of the table, yellow, blue, brown, red, ground.

I've terminated, since my initial post, the brown, red and ground with a standard RCA phono plug and "gave it a go" (so to speak). No output whatsoever. I cannot confirm the veracity of the cart, an "MMC 20CL", and it has been sitting for some time. If I have the wiring right and the cart is hooped I have no way of testing the unit - unless I can get another cart from the owner. He does have, if I'm not mistaken, another B&O table for his own use. And as soon as I can touch base with him (on vacation) I'll try that avenue as a last resort. I do hope to have the 'table ready to roll before his return but I'm going to draw the line at sourcing another cart for the 4002. I do this stuff for fun - not a living.

In the interim, I really do want the wiring confirmation before I do anything else.

Thanks to you and Peter for the initial start. Mucho appreciando

jac

Revival Audio Collections

Edmonton, Canada

Re: I give up - B&O 4002 TT - DIN pin-out query

Whoops.
Best keep me gob shut.

Re: I give up - B&O 4002 TT - DIN pin-out query

There are 4 wires, left, right, common ground and chassis ground.

Re: I give up - B&O 4002 TT - DIN pin-out query

The 4002 has a 5 pin DIN plug. I have all those fixed and it's running but the problem is this - he wants me to make this unit useable with a standard RCA inputs. I've tried all over town to find an adaptor but, since time is a bit of a concern, have given up. I've taken the DIN off and know what's in there for wiring.
