I use a 5500 in preference because of this. It no longer has all the RCA plugs , just DIN connections which means that one cannot connect so much. I suppose they needed space for the Powerlink sockets but it is a definite disadvantage.

Ah I see................. may as well just bin it then if it's as bad as that!

Re: Beosystem 7000

Actually the only problem with the 7000 is the lack of connections compared to my 5500. Really very impressive and very smart. Used it with my M100s initially and was actually a bit disappointed - bass was not as good as I had expected, but with S45-2s it really sings. To be honest, it shades my modern system and makes me wonder about the present day priorities. I am using the Avant as the master with a BC2 and I have felt that the amplifier in the Avant is not that great in absolute terms - wonderful for a TV but not up to the 7000. Neither are quite as good as my 4400 though! I think I have been neglecting my M100s which clearly need a bit of a work out! They sounded rather boxy today which is not how I remember them at all.

The system is in perfect working order and boxed so I am happy to see a friend get it. Might convert him to joining Beoworld!
