Hola, I have first hand news that yes indeed the BeoVision 8-40" will be coming out before the end of this year. It just makes sense and is much needed. For example, what if I want a 40" and do not want a DVD player because I already have a 3 terabyte server with all my movies and cd's in order to view? BV 8-40" with system module as link in bedroom is just perfect, and at more than half the price of a BeoVision 7-40" (aprox. price tag will be €4.800 + wall bracket or floor stand). I cant wait!!! As far as the BeoCenter 6-32", no first hand news.... yet!!!

Gulp, I'm not sure of your definition of a 'bargain' - certainly the BV7-40 is an expensive product - but I agree the picture quality is absolutely superb....with the right incoming signal.

As far as 'bargains' go, if the Avant/US was a good value, then the BV-7/40 has to be as well. Allowing for inflation, increased screen size, and advances in capabilities (ie. 5 HD inputs instead of 1), I think JK makes a good point. I hear a lot of talk about Loewe, Sony, Pioneer and others on this forum, and I just don't get it. I don't know enough about Loewe, they came to the US a few years ago and left again before their coffee got cold (so perhaps their business model wasn't so well received here); but does any one else today offer a TV which can do all of the things which my 6 year old Avant/US can do? At any price? And with the ease, and jaw-dropping picture? The BV-7-40/MK3 does just that. And I'm pretty certain that it costs what it costs to do all of those things...and do them well.

In another post JK re-frames a question asked in these forums before...price vs. performance, quality or capabilities... which would you be willing to give up?

Thing is, I don't think they can do it all. Superior Quality, keeping their line current and lower prices. Something has to give.

I do not really agree; I think one of the reasons why B&O is not doing quite well, is because they have increased their prices to much. For instance (knowing that people think of me as an old man):

When I bought my Avant this TV was about twice the price of the most expensive Philips Matchline TV; but I got some great extra's: a great design, video, better sound, great integration and a better picture quality. This purchase felt like spoiling myself, but still made sense.

Now I look at the BV7-32 and I feel like getting average picture quality, limited connection possibilities and I have to pay 4 times the price of a comparable quality LCD tv. To me that does not make sense and it will not unless I can explain to myself why this is worth the price surplus.

While I would love to see lower prices I am not sure if it makes that much of a difference when you hit the B&O price range. Either you love the design & functions and must have a product or you don't. Even though for me price is a major restriction what I can do, I don't think someone who can spend 6000 on a TV would blink with an eye if it is 7000.

These numbers are all personal preference, what one is comfortable with. I am pretty sure we have a ton of members who think "and it would be a blockbuster product if they could sell it for 2000"

I think they need to focus on keeping their TVs current and offer a decent selection of models and sizes, design and function must be extra ordinary. Looking at how they racked up prices over the years on some products it doesn't seem to matter what they do there.

Not only the price; I think the current BV7 does not justify it's price-tag based on the the pictures quality and options (inputs etc).

Since I use a projector for the big screen experience I would love to get a good quality tv (between 32 and 40"), full DD/DTS surround sound options, with very good center speaker quality, a projector out and as a master in a master link setup. A price-tag below 6000 euro would make this a blockbuster product!

I think they got that point. If you read the Loewe financials, they believe that havng all models in all sizes is one of the keys why they are/were reasonable successful.

I personally would have loved to buy an updated BC6 in 26 or 32", or an more up to date BV7 32". BV8 works just fine and it does look much more interesting then a sony or samsung.

If beovision 8 goes to 40 inch, why not a beovision 6 (or bc 6) ?

I would even consider a bv6-40 if it had a projecto output (Cinema module ?)

That's exactly my point here. I'm enjoying an Avant for 10 years now. A new B&O TV is a long term investment for me and I don't want to go under a 40". The only option here is BV7-40 with a price tag that's nearly the double of an Avant.

I'm looking for a 40" B&O TV that's comparable with existing products from other manufacturers from the feature side, offers B&O quality and is future proof. I like the modular concept and to have the choice to fit in additional modules (ML, Surround sound, PIP, decoders,...) depending on my current and future needs. I don't see why such a solution should be more expansive than the latest Avants were. BS3 equipped solutions are the right high end solutions for customers that are willing to spent 11 thousand Euros and more.

I would like to see the different models in different sizes. So I first decide on the model (and price range) and then choose the right size.

Hope we can expect something similiar in the near future...

BV7-32 are about to be discontinued..

Not sure what you mean BeoLab? Discontinued means that it's going to disappear from the product line. However, I've been told that a new 2 x HDMI based chassis is due to go in the BV7-32 first, then the same chassis will be used for a BV8-40 and a BV6-32. I don't think anyone has a release date for the upgraded BV7-32, but they need to make this a priority.
