I was just last week at my local B&O store and asked about the Serene's software updates. I have also bought my Serene second hand (from eBay and around 540 EUR). The latest update was (I think) 2006 and I was told that it's main thing is that makes Serene calender to sync with Windows Vista -based PC as that has been impossible with the old software. I don't know if the update has any smaller things included. If anyone knows better please tell!

Make sure the software has been updated. There were a few issues with the early ones..

If it is not updated, can't I just have it updated myself?

My phone has version E910-XX-FA2. Does anyone know what kind of problems are resolved in later versions.

Hi I bought a brand new serene off ebay sealed in box never even charged once...I paid 500 euros which i think is a great deal.

Any other thing we should be aware of when buying a used one?

Is there a way to check the serial, to see if it was stolen or something like that. And can B&O supply a new battery - for how much?

What is the latest software number and how do you check it on the phone? And has anyone figured out how to reset it - delete absolutely everything on the phone? I got an offer, but I'm very reluctant on buying it... I had a bad experience once and I want to be 100% positive.

PS. what is the safest way to transfer the money, if the seller doesn't have PayPal? So you can get you money back if it turns out to be a scam?

Check the call log, > the talk time the previous owner had put on. I just got my second hand and the previous owner didn't reset his call log (I hope) and it had 9hrs outgoing and 5hrs incoming. I found out it was brought in last June cuz it had the warranty sticker on the battery. And apparently, I found out the pictures naming was save in sequence (SP_A0001...0002 so on), so you can find out how many pictures it took by taking a pic and see what the number is. < I haven't found out where to reset that though.

As far as i'm aware, the Serene is SIM free and can work in any country. Isn't it Tri or Quad band or something?
