If you have anything to say - please tell!</description><dc:language>en</dc:language><generator>CommunityServer 2008 SP2 (Build: 31104.93)</generator><item><title>Setting up my BS3 and HDMI</title><link>https://archivedforum.beoworld.org:443/forums/thread/123928.aspx</link><pubDate>Tue, 17 Jun 2008 10:32:46 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">41a2a90c-3a1e-4bd3-b144-3883695a7f38:123928</guid><dc:creator>Michael</dc:creator><slash:comments>0</slash:comments><comments>https://archivedforum.beoworld.org:443/forums/thread/123928.aspx</comments><wfw:commentRss>https://archivedforum.beoworld.org:443/forums/commentrss.aspx?SectionID=13&amp;PostID=123928</wfw:commentRss><description>&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;ve noticed that when I switch between/to sources with the HDMI inputs (Bluray &amp;amp; AppleTV) there is a flash frame of the source&amp;#39;s video, a bit of delay, audio cut in and out followed by a nice fade in of the picture followed by the audio cutting back in where everything is fine. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Apple TV in particular has a hard time with what I guess is the &amp;quot;Handshake&amp;quot; that everyone refers to. &amp;nbsp;The little BS3 graphic overlay identifying the source is cut short as there is a brief flash of AppleTV video which is occasionally garbled. &amp;nbsp;The entire process takes about 12 seconds to switch. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The DVD takes about 7 seconds to switch and seems to have less trouble as there is not any garbled frames flashed.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre;"&gt;	&lt;/span&gt;I&amp;#39;m assuming that the audio cutting in and out is the switching between analog and the digital inputs internally. An issue that occurred in my BS1.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre;"&gt;	&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;It&amp;#39;s not that bad overall I just want to make sure it&amp;#39;s performance is in keeping with it&amp;#39;s design. &amp;nbsp;It&amp;#39;s obviously designed to do a nice hand-off from input to input. &amp;nbsp;I would assume that there is always the possibility that not all components play as nice via HDMI. &amp;nbsp;I just want to make sure that this is typical with other&amp;#39;s experiences?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
