After doing this I was able to assign the two speakers that are connected, in series, as Left Surround and Rear Centre. So it does appear that in some instances speakers can be connected in series other than just right and left.

Re: BV7BS3 speaker connections

Thanks! That's what I thought.

Re: BV7BS3 speaker connections

Razlaw:

The most that can be daisy chained are two different speaker roles? Correct? Such as left surround and right surround?

It is not possible to, for instance, daisy chain 3 such as left surround, rear centre, and right surround?

No, center and sub speakers cannot be daisy'ed, so daisy only works in pairs of 2 speakers with "the same role, but left and right". The powerlinkcable only contains left/right signal cables.

As confusing as it may sound, the BeoSystem 3 will recognized daisy-chained speakers without issue. You will find that when assigning speaker types in the menu it will "fire up" each speaker individually and allow them to be named and configured individually, even if they're running out of the same socket.

Nothing at all to worry about!

Everybody is so preoccupied with screen size however we find ourselves succumbing to the temptation to look just at screen size. I noticed that speaker connections are labeled 1-6 rather than front and rear as on our current Avant. When we built our house B and O installed in wall wiring for the rear speakers in the surround setup. I run one powerlink to a connection in the wall behind the Avant. The in wall wiring then runs in series to to powerlink connections located where each of the rear speakers are. I then set one speaker to left and one to right.

It appears in the BV7 guide that each speaker out connection, 1-6 must be assigned to a specific speaker. If true that seems to mean the rear speakers can not we wired in series and I will not be able to use the in wall wiring for one of the speakers and will have to run a seperate new powerlink wire to that location?
