So now the picture on the new 9 and new 4 should be identical, correct?

My wife and I are trying to decide what to replace our Avant with, 4, 7, or 9.

I understand the concern with the arm being short, but this is how ISF calibrations are performed (i.e. in one localized area). Essentially the aging of the phosphor is uniform enough to generalize a single area over the entire panel. There would not, for example, be a big blob in the lower corner where green is bleaching out. Then consider that the chromatic adjustments can't be localized anyway, so it's the average value you're looking for, and not the extreme.

It's also important to remember that the calibration performed by the built-in camera is something that owners of high-end video systems have been paying to have performed already. In fact, the cost in the US ranges around $1,000 per visit. Bang & Olufsen didn't invent this technique, but we are the first and only company to build it into the package. We've gone ahead and assumed that someone purchasing the most expensive televisions in the world will likely want to maintain the picture quality that drew them to the screen in the first place and saved them tremendous service cost or picture degradation over the life of the system.

When I ordered my BV9, my dealer told me that ACM device and D10 panel will be included, as well as 4.17 software (I was hoping for 4.20 with 24 fps support, but it seems it is not available for the time being).

I haven't seen the ACM at work, as my dealer's BV9 was an older version.

It seems that a test chart is displayed, in order to enable the ACM to make the adjustments. So the rest of the scren is turned to black.

I agree that the arm's length seems to be rather short and I wonder how the camera will check the bottom of the screen.

When I shall recieve my new TV, I'll make a movie of the process.

As a non technical person,I have wondered about the accuracy/usefulness of this.

Given the apparent short length of the arm,and it's restricted arc of travel,will the accuracy of it's calibration not be influenced by the on screen image at the time of the sensor's activation?

Or is a known test chart generated?
