Picture is very nice.

I am not expecting the BC2 to become blueray, this would go beyond exchanging the drive. They would have to redo the socket unit as well so it would be a complete new device.

I would think they will start off with a Blueray in a DVD2 like case matching the BS3.

I took the BC2 since I wanted something now and also I don't think blueray makes much sense since the movies are more expensive and its just a 32" screen. Connection would be also a problem for me, since component is reserved for STB and the HDMI is occupied by an Apple TV.

Cheers

JK

Re: Buying a BC2?

I am sure the BC2 will be upgraded to Blu-ray in the future but I am not expecting it this year. I have a BC2 and like it a lot. It runs my modern system throughout my house very well. I would prefer the newer model with the audio feedback but wouldn't change just for that. Not sure I would get the audio only model - the cost saving is small and all that changes is the socket unit.

Buying a BC2?

Hi,

Thanks, esteemed members of this great forum for many valuable advise - I'm now a proud owner of a white BV8-32 and I'm very very happy with it after MX7000!

Now, it seems I do need a new DVD player. BC2 would do the trick - but do you think it will be upgraded (blue ray) "too" soon to buy the present version? Or is the BC3/DVD3 just around the corner?I could replace my BS4 with it for CD playback as well...actually, at the moment I'd prefer the BC2 audio-version over the BS4 for looks. What do you think?
