The setting had the effect of bypassing the processor (and or filters) it was a useful test for me. The exact details were lost in the old forum. I no longer have the other speakers - I had them approx 3 yrs ago, and just used the speakers in the Avant for the last 3 yrs. I have tried speaker 2 as this automatically kicks in when you play a cd on the Beosound 9000. The problem is also there on speaker 3 when watching tv, video or DVD, so not just audio.

Re: Sound problems with Avant and Beolab 3 Speakers

What about in speaker 2 ? or 4?

Re: Sound problems with Avant and Beolab 3 Speakers

Sounds to me like the sound module is on it's way to circuit board heaven. I have just attached a pair of Beolab 3's to the Avant as I have a Prologic sound card installed in the Avant, which has worked fine previously and powered Beolab 1's and Beolab 8000's. The right speaker is working intermittently - mostly not at all. It is not the speaker or cable as I have swapped them around to no avail - the right channel does not seem to work most of the time. If I connect the speakers directly into the Beosond 9000, they work fine. If I use speaker 1 option ( just the avant speakers) this also works fine when the speakers are connected to the Avant. I wondered whether the sound card may be faulty in the Avant, and if repalcements are still available or is there something simpler that I could try? Any ideas anyone?

Thank you in advance

Kind Regards

Martin
