Sorry - my fault - Ridax is a member of the site but also makes a number of Beo4 controllers for PCs and iPods - see here.

The Beolink converter would allow you to connect a master device to an ML set up - for instance a Beosystem 7000 to a BV7, but not an isolated Beogram, as far as I know.

I'll sort out what Ridax is then. But could this BeoLink converter box do something for me? It says here that it converts ML to Datalink. And ML is on all my stuff..

Very tricky! I wonder if Ridax can offer you a solution. As Graham says, a turntable is normally controlled via the IR sensor of a Beomaster or Beocenter. It would usually connect to said Beomaster and Beocenter via a 7 pin DIN lead. The BS9000 does not have this facility and is unable to pass the commands to the Beogram. You will need some form of IR receiver and device to send signals to the Beogram.

Personally, I would simply switch the Beogram on manually - you will need to clean the record anyway.

Thanks for the info Graham. So I need datalink to control it and an amp built in to get sound out of it.

So how will I connect data link to my ML network?

The beosound 9000 does not have datalink on the AUX socket so no record decks will be able to be remote controlled.

You will need a deck with RIAA pre amp built in so use BG3500, 4500, 6000 or 7000. If you use any of the others you will need an external pre amp.

Dear fellow B&O lovers,

I would like to add a second hand record player to my current setup which consists of a BeoSound 9000, Computer with PC2, BeoVision 4002.

This record player should be of the kind that's thin, with a tangential tone arm and preferably without wooden sides. I want to control this record player with my Beo4 remote control. Compatibility with Beo5 would be a nice added value. I want at least play/pause functionality.

My 2 questions are:

1) Which record player must I buy?

2) What additional hardware do I need to buy to make it work with my Beo4?
