Introduced March 2006 - Type number 933X. You really want one with S/W 7.7 as you can then add the HDMI expander. However if I were looking for a BV7, I would always get the 7-40 with the BS3 included.

The BV7-40 is, in my opinion, as good if not better than any of the B&O CRTs - certainly better if used with HD broadcasts. The BV7-32 is probably as good and has potentially better sound. However, as Richard rightly says, you need to get the right one! The early ones are simply not as good and the early BV6s are atrocious. I would be perfectly happy with a later BV7-32.

Thanks for all the comments. I have, of course, seen a BV7-32 runnning but not under all conditions and with all sources and formats so not sure if motion blur, brightness etc are big weak areas. The opinions are useful.

It's such a good looking TV but, you know, when you see so many negative comments on the site about B&O's LCD TVs and see the number of BV7-32s on the used market you start to wonder!

An interested follower of the forum for the past couple of years, and now posting for the first time...

A former BV3-32 owner, though current equipment includes a BV6-26 (bedroom) and a BV7-32 (8 months old);

Picture quality of both lcds certainly better than the BV3 in my opinion...either should be a significant improvement over a 15 year old Philips!

Where in my post did I say EARLY Lcd's are as good as Crt's . I know they aren't but the latest one's are nearly there . The NEW BV7-40 I have has an excellent picture with a good quality feed and an Avant can't match HD , the Masters coverage from BBC HD was excellent , old material like Fools and Horses on UK Gold is poor as it is on an Avant . To be able to experience HD I can live with any short comings you think a Lcd has .

It's only a year old and is the same as sold now , don't think it's had as many updates as the 40 . It replaced a Bv6-26 and is a better picture and HD , also has a Dvd player built in , depends on the size you want . I won't go back to Crt as I haven't found the picture better although some would argue the point .

Some would argue the point??? everyone would- if you are suggesting that an early generation bv7 gives a better picture than a good crt then i suggest an eye test is in order!

If you don't want something too big but want a well-made premium LCD that can easily be connected to beolab speakers the Loewe range is worth a look. In particular their new Connect TV is easily connected to digital media such as computers and Network Accessible Drives and our local dealer (an ex B&O dealer) can easily connect all sorts of B&O equipment to them.

When you mean easily connect B&O equipment; could you get a 5.1 setup (all B&O active speakers including BL2) AND connect a beosound 9000? Operation with Beo4 is no issue since I have a lintronic box that could do that part of the job.

Very interested to learn if this setup is possible!

We have both the 7-32 and 6-26. Both good TV's but picture quality and connectivity have moved on the intervening period. I have recently been trying to get HD picture and audio onto the BV 7 to enjoy blu-ray disks. In typical B&O fashion connections have been the problem.

A top end Pioneer plasma will set you back £2-3k and will provide a picture quality that blows both the BV 7 and 6 away. New models are due later this summer so the current Kuro models should begin to soften in price further.

Hi.

I've been guesting on this forum for a long time and there are lot of interesting - and knowledgable - views to be found so I thought I'd ask for this community's opinion on used B&O TVs.

I'm looking to replace a 15 year old Philips 21 inch CRT with something with the style to match my stereo (BC9300+BL8000). I'm undecided between a used Beocenter 6-26 or a BV7-32. There are not many of the former around on the usual used equipment sites but there are quite a lot of BV7-32s. What should I read into that? Are they no good? Is a BC-6-26 OK?

I know all the spec and feature differences between the two - and yes I know ones bigger than the other - but any advice on performance and how pleased I'm likely to be as an owner would be very much appreciated.
