You can attach a CD player to it but you will have to remove the Datalink pins.

Re: vintage beosystem question

thanks for your answers . but will the datalink function works with the second cd which i hook to tape ?

Re: vintage beosystem question

I can pretty much guarantee that the laser head will not die. They are bombproof!!!

The cd drive spindle motor however is probably near the end of it's life and replacements are not available. You would be better advised to look for a CD5500 which will prove more reliable.

I suspect that you are also asking if you can connect 2 cd players to the beomaster? Yes you can and I would plug in to the tape input with a din lead.

Re: vintage beosystem question

The actual laser in the CD50 is pretty tough - it seems to be the motor that gives bother and this is serviceable. You can attach a second CD player but it won't work with Datalink and hence doesn't work very well. If it had to replace the CD50 however, it would be fine.

vintage beosystem question

i bought a beomaster 5500 and a beogram cd 50 recently .with the beogram 6500 i bought ealier , the set isfantastic but i am worrying that the old-aged cd head will die some day . anybody know anybody selling the laser head replacement . moreover , if i buy one more of beogram 5500 , can i hook it to the beomaster and use it as a second cd player . should i attach the rca plugs to the tape input ? please advice .
