Yes, that is the case Van. I joined in April, and then upgraded to Gold in June. Sorry, when you originally said 'joined' I thought you were referring to the gold membership, as that's what the reminder was for. So yes, it looks like my reminder was sent based on when I first joined as a bronze member, not as a gold member.

Please bear with me whilst I try and work this out.

If you look in your membership area (click on your name in the top right) or if I click on your name you will notice it says you joined on 16 Apr. It also says that you joined on 16 Apr 2007 in our database records. I have checked back on your posts too and you posted here on 18th April 2007 (http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/post/2941.aspx) which would mean that you may have joined on April 16th as a bronze member and then upgraded to Gold on 2 June 2007.

Is this the case? Did you join in April and then upgrade in June?

I joined on June 2. I was sent the reminder on the date you said, March 17th, and it said this:

Dear Austin

Our records show that your GOLD membership is due for renewal on 02
 June 2008. 

If you would like to renew your membership simply login as usual and
 select the
"Upgrade/renew Membership" button in the MY BEOWORLD login panel.

I have renewed after finding the email. Thanks JK for mentioning the renewal may have been filtered as spam.

What about for those of us who got a reminder 4 months before the expiration rather than 4 weeks? I'm hoping I'll still get a 4 week reminder, because I have to admit, the 4 month one isn't entirely helpful lol.

Well got my reminder as described and I also got told that I had upgraded to gold though I already was gold.

Technology eh! Brilliant when it works absolute horror when it doesn't.

Hi Mr Andersson

I have removed the illegal characters from your username and you now have a username "mr_anders_son".

If you try to upgrade your account it should go through ok and your founder membership will be reinstated. All of your previous posts and all of your preferences will be kept the same.

I must apologise for inconvenience these problems have caused. When the site was originally launched we noticed there were some problems with certain characters within usernames (punctuation and spaces) and thus we made these illegal. Your username was regsitered prior to this change and thus has not allowed you to renew.

Again I apologise for the inconvenience.

In answer to the original email about getting an email notification saying you had upgraded rather than renewed:

This was an error which has now been rectified.

Regards not receiving your email reminders:

I have checked all of the membership email reminders and it would seem they have all been sent out four weeks prior to membership lapsing. The system keeps a log. There are a number of reasons that the members may not have received them:

• Spam filtering via email software or ISP's
• The members email address has changed and the system has not been updated

A possible solution would be to have a reminder notification when the member logs into the system.

Ups, I can see I'm one of the lost ones, too! Of course, I hope I can regain my 'f-status' once I pay. (I suspect though that it's more my fault and apologize for my lack of attention ...)

With regards to the payment I would ask if someone could kindly guide me to banking details of Beoworld so I can arrange for a transfer. Since I got experience with 'stolen identity' - while doing payments on-line (not to Beoworld) - I changed my principles and simply don't do it anymore. (I got my almost GBP 2,000 back, but ...)

I hope I'll meet understanding - and sorry if I missed the banking details somewhere on the site. Thanks a lot.

I would think for some it may get stuck in the spam filter ......
