I can't think of another code than the one Peter mentioned in the other topic :

- power off on Beomaster (disconnect from mains)
- on Beolink 1000, press RADIO
- plug in Beomaster 4500 (connect to mains)
- press 1271 PLAY on Beolink 1000

Hi there

I have just replaced af piece in my Beomaster 3500, and now the display shows CODE. Does anyone know that code? I hope that you can help me. It would be great, if you that have replaced your SW still have the code.

I suppose one would never have a spare bg cd 4500.

I need the glass panel and if possible the chassi (could paint a 3500 aswell). I am currently having my dealer checking if grill and mirror panel is available otherwise i might be in need of that too.

If you have a grill for the beocord that would be awsome!

Btw, does the chassi of the beogram differ from that of a beocord?

I thought the 4500 software for 2-way communication was 2.0 and up, and that the 2.1 on the website was a typo. That would make more sense, as usually the first number (the 2) is used to indicate major changes, whereas the number to the right, after the decimal, is used to indicate minor revisions. Since 2-way communication is likely the biggest revision made in the 4500, I would expect that 2.0 would indicate it, not 2.1.

Got the eprom from my dealer but was a few years ago , it was one of the few parts that was still available then , so would be even less now . If I remember correctly these eprom's can be copied if you have the equipment .

I've rebuilt several BM3500 and found out that not all BM3500 have the 2-way hardware.
(no ir-emitters)
On the BM3500 that didn't have that hardware i added the
hardware + eprom + mirror panels of a broken BM4500,
et voilá, a black BM3500 with mirror panels and 2-way

Made two of my BM3500's two way with eprom part number 8341178 this give's you software 2.2 , it's the same part that's in the BM4500 . Easy to change and not expensive ( about £30 ) but don't know if they are still available .

Btw, if the mcp was used just for BS6500 and 7000, how come that the BL7000 works with BS7000?

There are two sets of control codes, MCP and Beolink.

It's simple enough, the MCP only works 100% with BM stacking systems but some 5500 and all 6500/7000 are beolink compatible as well!

You could check if the 2-way is working by switching it on,
adjust a setting, f.e. the volume and look (close-up) if the ir-emitters blink
(very faint, may take a few seconds before they blink)

The emitters are located in the glass panel, see image below.

My BM4500 only works in 2-way with Beolink 5000 & 7000,
with the MCP 6500 there is no contact.
