Well, I guess taste is subjective. Personally, I'm not a fan of the Tiguan at all. On the other hand, I love the Q5 design, particularly the rear. So much so that we placed an order for one at the end of May (3.0 TDI) - have to wait 6-8 months for delivery, though! And yes, ticked the box for the optional B&O stereo.

Wasn't B&O's first foray into car audio in the A8?

Sadly the A1 only comes with Bose as an audio option It would have been so cool if it had an B&O option.

Regarding the design, the Q5 & Q7 are really the ugly ducklings of the Audi family. It´s hard to understand that they are from the same brand that have given us beauties such as the S5 and the A/S5 Sportback.

And I have to agree with Tom, regarding the Tiguan similarity. That was my first thought too.

No definately not required. I'm a big B&O fan but the 700W Alpine is satisfactory when not listening to the 380,000W V12. B&O is simply wasted on a car where the cabin is not naturally the quietest place to be.

Have to agree there, more so i always thought Mercedes were a better match... hmmm oh well :)

Yep I have - constantly... They tend to be Becker products, apart from the high end branded which are very good. I haven't heard any of the HK etc, but they do tend to be very good generally.

They tried - but BMW didn't want any Bang branding and it is BMW's corporate style not to have any other brands visible in their interiors.

However, this may change....one day..

I missed this one - funny to see how people make statements regarding the Q5 and the Tiguan. They are different cars: They do not share the platform (Q5 is based on the new A5/A4 platform), nor the 4x4 system (Haldex vs 40:60 proper quattro) - and on the inside they do not share a single button. They do, however, as most cars from VAG share engines and transmissions.

Drive them, and this becomes obvious.

For the record, BMW car systems are consitently underwhelming.

Did you ever listen to a BMW system?

We have 2 BMWs, a 1 Series with HiFi system Professional and a 6 Series with HiFi system Logic7, and I can tell you they sound excellent compared to BOSE sound in Audis or Harman/Kardon in Range Rovers.

The B&O system may sound good, but the car is just UGLY. Looks like a VW tiguan with A5 headlights and Q7 taillights.
