Basicly I think there is an issue with the power supply as there is not enough power getting to the machine for the display to light-up or for the tape mechanism to work. When I have it open I notice a repetitive squeaking noise coming from the power supply (I think). Sometimes however, when you turn it on for a fleeting second it makes the noise you would expect it to make if it was going to accept a tape but then goes back to squeaking.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I know these things are ten-a-penny these days.
