These are still sought after - the A after the number was used for selected products. There was some rumours that some B&amp;amp;O CD players used the P model but both of mine have had the A. Scroll down in the article attached to the link, and there is a picture of the innards of a CD5500.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The CD5500 is probably even better as it has a better motor for the CD drive. I have a BeoSound 9000 Mark III, but the oldie 7000&amp;nbsp;blows that away. The difference is even bigger when listening through headphones. The 7000 is so detailed, I hear instuments and details&amp;nbsp;I have never heared before.&amp;nbsp;How can a 13 year old CD player beat a new&amp;nbsp;BeoSound.
