I have the same problem on a US Avant. No Scart connectors here.

I can sometimes hear my Tivo when listening to my AppleTV and visa versa.

If I unplug the Avant from the power outlet for a few minutes, the problem generally gets resolved.

I personally don't think it's a problem caused by cables, otherwise friends and family with NO B&O would also encounter this occasionally. It's just part of the charm of B&O. After all you have different "problems" caring for a thoroughbred than you do for a donkey.

Re: AVANT: I can hear the STB when I watch DVDs

HI - at the risk of repesating myself, and other peoples posts - please mod your cable as described - your hearing crosstalk from audio being sent down the scart from the TV chassis. I'm 95% certain -

Re: AVANT: I can hear the STB when I watch DVDs

It's because the sound sent down the scart is the last source you used. But if I turn the set off with the beo4 bofore turning it on again it's no problem.

The easiest way to solve it is to get another stb, I think.

Interesting to see if the scart modifications will solve it though!

Good luck!

Re: AVANT: I can hear the STB when I watch DVDs

pin 1 and 3 is sound out of the TV, used for VCR's. the sound wires in and out runs along in the same shield inside the cable, if the cable get bended to mush you can get interference like in your case.

Re: AVANT: I can hear the STB when I watch DVDs

i see. i know what u mean. but i really dont understand why thought, isnt the dvd1 not going to be able to send any signals up that line anyway?

Re: AVANT: I can hear the STB when I watch DVDs

It's best to cut, open the plug there you also can see the pin numbers

Re: AVANT: I can hear the STB when I watch DVDs

so cut the cable or break the pins?

Re: AVANT: I can hear the STB when I watch DVDs

Ok then take your old cable, and the plug at the TV end you cut the wire for pin 1 and 3 then your problem is solved.

Re: AVANT: I can hear the STB when I watch DVDs

Any piece of cable will do for the wire link between the aerial plug screen and earth.
