A BV5 in the bedroom sounds nice.

However, why don't you keep the BV5 in the living room, and add a projector for movies etc. You can have a curtain coming automatically down from the roof in front of the BV5, and use the same surround setup.

The best of two worlds.

Re: BV5 now to the bedroom

I think the installation can be quite expensive unless you do it yourself. Personally I would keep the BV5 for now and use that as a base to built a home cinema.

Unless you can keep out daylight the projector is not of much use. This is in the end why I bought my TV.

So I would look for Screen & Projector, professional installed and probably a Blueray player since you are after the high end.

Cheers

JK

BV5 now to the bedroom

Hi, my 2005 Beovision 5 sadly is now off to our bedroom. I shall keep the lab 5s, 3s and BS9000 in the family room. I am planning to convert our family room into a home cinema. It is 30' x 18'. I am looking for the forum's advice on compatible high end Projector, Beo System 3 and a high end motorised screen dropping down from the ceiling.

I would like to continue with the same level of integration I have now. i.e. all contolled from either my Beo4 remote or a new Beo 5.

I have a budget of about $ 30,000 AUD. This would get me a BS3 for around $ AUD 8000, a Stewart Firehawk or similar screen for about AUD 10,000 and a projector for around $ 12,000.

Does anyone have any views about which projector ?> I currently have a B&O compatible DVD Player (Panasonic A30) controlled via a B&O DVD Controller.

It is also a pity to lose the BV5 surround system control now un-connected to the bedroom.

Peter
