Are your option settings correct? Assuming the speakers are connected to the BS you need to switch the BS to option 2 and the BC to option 0 if I am not mistaken.

I think if the Beosystem is in option 1 and the BC 2 is in option 0 which it goes to if no speakers are connected then it behaves like you describe - I leaving the TV/Beosystem in 1 and the BC in 0 which is an invalid combination.

This all assumes your speakers are connected to the BS.

Here is how you change options. I hope I am not too far off, this is new for me but my BV8/BC2 behaved similar when I did the initial setup.

I will not muddle this query with my already confused B&O head - my beocenter is connected to the AV Scart input on the Beosystem2 - in the Connections menu I have AV set to DVD so rather unsuprisingly when I select CD on the Beo4 it ignores it (same for radio). My Skybox is in the Vmem scart, with a Beomedia on the VGA input.

How can I change this to allow me to access the CD and radio from the remote? Do I need the Dig out
