HI everyone,

I read in official site that B&O is advertising BeoVision 10 and claim that it's not only a TV but that it can be your stereo system.

As I'm thinking of a new TV, can someone tell me if this is true? I'm wondering if the sound produced by the in build speakers can be compared with a BeoSound 8, Beolit 12 or any other in the range? If it is like this, this could be enough for me in a small room.

Same question about the hypothetic entry level BeoVision from the BeoPaly range... if ever it is launched...

Sorry if these have been mentioned elsewhere, but I just noticed that the iPhone/iPad app store now has a Beolit Setup App. It also says Beolit software updates will be available through the App.

There is also an App called BeoClock. It is not from B and O but says it was inspired by the Beosound 5.

Beovox S-30, S-45, S-60 and S-75

My main system: Beosystem 5500 (CD50 away for service), Beomaster 4400 (Burnt output transistor, looking for replacement part...), Beogram 8002, Beogram 4002 and Beomaster 2400-2

New to B&O

Having been an avid home cinema type person I decided to tidy it all up.

So I ended up selling all my kit and go for something equally high end but in a stereo format.

I looked about and decided on a Bang and Olufsen system as the facts and opinions speak for themselves.

I know have a Beosound 3000 with Beolab 4000 all beit second hand but in excellent condition.

Once home , connected and well..........it's OK but not what I hoped for......it just sounded a bit smothered not the clarity I had expected.

I Knew that the speakers temporary on the floor was a significant factor but will it sort it all out with stands ( expensive if it doesn't work).

The amount of praise these speakers get I know mine are not right........I know good sound when I hear it.

I mean my Harmon Kardon system in the car is much better than this.

I now ask you guys do you think stands are my solution?

Do you think changing the speaker cables will give a significant improvement.

So I’ve been a longtime reader/ B&O customer, but finally decided to post.

My system is an Integra Pre-amp, BL8002 for fronts, BL6002 for rears, and a BL11 for the sub.

In addition to being an B&O fan, I’m also a bit of an audiophile. What “audiophile” things has anybody done to their system that have made a difference, if any? Such as power conditioning, interconnects, DAC’s……etc.

Beosound 9000 CD skipping

I recently pulled my old beosound out of storage and fired it up. Much to my dismay it was fairly dusty. I cleaned the glass and little glass pegs and plugged it in. It worked perfectly the CD mechanism went fast and with not stoppage or glitches. However when I tried to play a CD I would get interminnted skipping. Well I left it alone for awhile and went to work on another project. I came back and it seemed to work great. No skipping at all perfect sound etc. So I was confident that I had fixed it haha! Well its been a week or so and I turned it back on and guess what, the skipping is back. I dont know if its worth noting but the system is on the offical BO stand and upright.

Im sure its just dust on some sensor or something and would LOVE some help on getting this thing running perfect again.

Chrome pole RL speaker stands?

Looking at a previous thread (2010) regarding stands for the RL models, there was mention of the existance of chrome 'pole' type ones that apparently replaced the earlier type with which I'm familiar. As I've never seen these chrome stands or even new of their existance, has anyone a link to where I can take a look at them?

Rear speakers with Beolab 5s

I am considering a pair of Beolab 5s. They would be used with a BV7-55 with a BL7-4. Thoughts on rear speakers? I could move my 9s to the rear and have all ALT speakers, or I could move my 1s from another room and have the height of the 1s as rears? The 9s would then become fronts in the other room.

One IR-Eye for two devices - possible ?

Hi all,

as I have two devices which need an IR-Eye I thought about if it's possible to use one IR-Eye with a y-splitter.

One device which should be controlled is a Lintronic -238 box and the other is my diy Beomedia. The Beomedia needs an IR-Eye as I don't have a B&O video master.

I think someone asked this before here on the forum, but I couldn't find the answer if it's possible or not.

Can you help ?

I am trying to find a beomaster 4500 with software version 2.1 or higher, but they are hard to find. Is it easy to change the software on a beomastr 4500? And does anyone have these software available?

What to buy for older system: Penta III or something else?

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of buying a pair of Penta IIIs for my livingroom 7000 system. At present I'm using a pair of beovox M150s, but I'm not particuarly pleased with tha combination - the treble sounds worse now compared to when i bought them in 1997 (I guess the crossovers need a rehaul), and the bass response is strange (it's slow, maybe due to poor re-coning by the previous owner?).

What I _really_ want soundwise is as good sound as possible within my budget, but I've decided to keep the livingroom system 100% b&o (at least the visible components...) so there's not much to choose from. My preference in sound is neutral sound, whatever that means :-) I guess i'd appreciate the current single-digit beolab series much more than Pentas but my budget is quite tight, so Beolab 9 is unfortunately out of the question. I know that my choice. whatever it will be, is going to be a compromise but I'm still a bit confused since I haven't heard a pair of Pentas since 1989. :-)

My options are: 1) Beolab Penta III (approx €900) 2) Beovox MS150 (refurbished, approx €500) and a hidden 3rd-party external power-amp (I don't trust the bm7000) 3) Beolab1, but then I'd need to wait some more time since they still are quite expensive

What do you think, are Pentas a better choice than ms150 + an external amp? Is it worthing saving up for a Beloab 1? I'd really appreciate comments and opinions from you.

Why not to own a Beo5!

Just got home to find my Beo5 completely dead! Not good news now I can't even watch my beautiful 7-40! I've owned it for about 18 months and it's already on its second battery. I love it for being able to control everything when it has battery but now I have at least a week of not being able to watch TV on my B&O TV. I've just had to rig up the 32" Panasonic LCD in front of it from my guest bedroom and I miss the sound quality already!!

Yesterday Lumigon unveiled a new Android smartphone with B&O ICE power and remote learning capabilities on the WMC in Barcelona. It's not clear from the press release whether the B&O IR codes are supported or not. Looks great in my opinion!

I am back in the USA for a visit and my B&O needs some cosmetic work. I have a pair of S-80 speakers in teak and BG 4002 in rosewood/pallisander. The local Do-It Yourself/home hardware center has three types of wood oil: tung oil, teak wood oil and Danish oil. Can anyone advise which type of oil I should be using? Also, if the teak on the speakers feel a bit rough, should I hand-sand the wood with superfine sandpaper before applying the oil?

Software Update Mess - BV10 in bits!

Dealer went to upgrade the software on the BV10-46 and found it couldn't be done without a replacement part (PCB?). The service engineer from B&O is round here at the moment with the BV10-46 in bits, simply so he can upgrade the software.

Apparentely there was a fault with the BV10-46 where it wasn't possible to make a connection to update the software, due to problem connecting the cable to the mainboard or something. Requires a new PCB, dismantling to install and a 2 hour engineer job.

B&O really do not make it easy for themselves :)

It's quite worrying and depressing seeing a new-ish BV10-46 dismantled, just to be able to update the software!

Can u give me comment about Beosound4?

Hi all, I am a new comer from Hong Kong. I owned my 2nd hand Beosound Ouverture with Beolab 4000 long time ago.

I like the function of Beosound 4 playing SD card. During my limited money, do u think is it worth to upgrading? Or, I save my money first and buy Beosound 5 later?

Hello, I'm new!

We have a Avant 32 DVD.

My remote has stopped working (stuck on 'TV') which appears to be a common age-related problem with this remote. I can of course buy a used version on ebay but then, how long would it also last?

Could work? Its for the BEOlink 1000 remote however the BEo04 is the same but with additional LCD display and foil? Or any other tips?

We have a 2yr old son who I also suspect emptied his water bottle onto the remote (its on the radiator in dry rice at the moment) so I'd rather go for a cheaper option if he does get hold of it again...
