One big difference is the quality of the panel. The MKII had an updated panel that was significantly brighter and with a higher contrast ratio. The only reason I was aware of this was when my MKI went in for repair - two years after purchase - and I was lent a MKII whilst it was in repair. When it came back, I quickly realised the panel was way darker (you could call it 'gloomy' in appearance).

I think the MKII came with HDCP support as I was able to connect directly to my Sky HD box.

I'd probably recommend a second hand MKII. It's better than my new BV7-40 MKIII showing SD channels, certainly SD-based football. It's good for HD, too, although only has 1 DVI socket.

How can I tell if it is mkI or II?? If  dealer offers a "demo" version of a BV7-32 which has been in the shop for some time (2yrs?), how can I tell if it is mkI or mkII?

If you search the forum you'll find this info - it's all to do with the TV reference codes. Also, the dealer should know if it's a MKI or MKII BV7-32.

you can find that out with the type number. For MKI, the 3rd position of the number is a 1 (xx1x), for MKII it is a 2 (xx2x) and for MKIII it is a 3 (xx3x)

Strange dealer. He should know IMO.

Ask for the type number. If he does not know how to find it, tell him that it is in the service menu (press "MENU 0 0 GO" on the remote to access it) under Monitor Information.

    Good luck

Hang on.  Mine is 9333 so it should be MKIII? But my BV7-32 only has 1 DVI input making it MKII?  I am confused now.

There is a massive difference between the BV7-40 MKII and the MKIII. It has a completely new chassis, 1080p panel and 4 HDMI ports.

There is little difference between the BV7-32 MKII and MKIII. I think the panel was updated and perhaps it was the BV7-32 MKIII that was first to include HDCP support as standard? However, it still has the same chassis as the MKII and single DVI port.

We're all waiting to see what happens with the BV7-32. It's strange that they've given the BV7-40 a new chassis and HDMI ports, but not the BV7-32.
