WOW! Very ugly, but i'm sure they sound insane, it might be a good value purchase for someone with the resourses to strip the cabinets back to the wood and have them professionally finished in a nice lacquer. They definitely need the front frets on them too.

What does everyone else think? I don't know alot about this kind of thing, but would the drivers improve the sound of this speaker, or would they ruin the sound?

I saw this the other day and was going to point them out but got sidetracked.

The best bit is where he says he has upgraded the drivers! Several years of careful design and development completely down the drainLaughing

Luckily the paint job saves the day - they may have lost their original sound but at least they look goodErm

My God - these are currently standing at over 200quid with a day still to go!Surprise

Perhaps LifestyleAV should consider painting all of its stock "Baby Sick" Yellow and sticking any old drivers in its speakers - they'd make a fortune!

I saw these a few days ago.

There is a certain fascination about the collision of B&O and Bling, a bit like being unable to avert your gaze when you see a car crash about to happen.

Despite everything I would imagine they sound OK, and if the person buying them has then stripped back and professinally finished they may well have a decent (if non-original) piece of kit on their hands.

Having said that, the price has now gone well above what a mint condition original pair would fetch

Its beyond bizarre! To me they are absolutely worthless but I suppose to someone else they are quite the buy! Cannot figure out why. Price is crazy

First point, I suppose that it could have been a repair rather than a ruining. I've painted my speaker covers, though in my case it was to cover a tear on the cloth. Either way, for a good sound, you could always do the repair route as suggested

Secondly, the "bling" point is a good one, though I'll start a new post one now that rather than divert the original purpose of this one.

Once you have a cabinet design then the drivers and crossovers are everything! I fail to see how you can change drivers "willy nilly" (a good old English expression) and expect an"improvement". Painting them sickly yellow totally spoils what was once "the best" according to some of our more informed members.
