    Clamper Size

    Hi All,

I'm a bit new to B&O and I am looking to buy an Ouverture but am not sure what the differences between the small and large clampers are, Can anyone help me?

    Many Thanks, Nick

    Welcome to Beoworld!

Just size I think, the smaller one exposes more of the spinning cd - my mother found it distracting, so it was replaced by a larger one which covers more of the disc, about 1cm of the periphery being exposed - it worked for her!

    Re: Clamper Size

    Hi Nick

I think the larger clamps are the later models. I myself prefer to see as much of the disc spinning as possible!

Also, don't think you have to stick with active speakers (Beolabs that have their own amplifiers inside them) They can be connected to any power amp to drive any passive speakers.

I have a Beocentre 2300 connected to a Quad 405-2 amp and Beovox MS150 speakers. I don't think I will ever want anything else!

    Cheers

    Nigel

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for your responses, I thought it was a technical reason, I am happy to buy a small clamper now.Big Smile.

    Thanks, Nick
