    Ipod to Beocenter 2000

Hi everyone im new to the forum,

Just came across a beocenter 2000 and i was interested in linking my ipod up to this. Im not sure if this is possible as it doesnt seem to have an aux input, just a "mic", "copy" and "headphone" one on the front of the unit. Im not sure if you could plug in a cable like the one below into the mic input or something?

    Thanks for any help!

    Welcome to Beoworld!!

There should be an AUX input that you can connect an ipod to...

5 pin din to mini jack cable should work fine!

Hi Jonathan thanks for your quick reply!

Thats my problem though, there is not an input marked aux on the unit? The sockets for "mic" and "copy" appear to have the same shape as the 5 pin din though? So not sure if you could plug it into one of them? I just dont want to waste money on a cable that wont work!

Is there a 'Tape' or 'Tape2' input on the back of the unit?

No theres not, only the inputs for the speakers and 2 other smaller sockets which i think are to do with the radio.

    If this is your baby

part of the problem is that it is an integrate unit ... no need for an AUX when you already have all the devices know to man (back in 1980 Laughing)

but at the bottom of the description it says that the two connections (I preseume you do not mean the aerial sockets) are for the headphone and the microphone

someone who has an electrical/electronics background might be able to advise on connecting an iPod headphone output cable to a microphone input cable

not sure how you will go for stereo ...

other clunky alternatives would be those iPod FM transmitters or iPod cassette emulators that people used to use in cars

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Well if anyone could advise me on connecting the ipod headphone cable to a microphone input cable that would be great!? Out of interest does anyone know how the sound quality is on those ipod cassette emulators? I have never used one.

    Thanks!

    Re: Ipod to Beocenter 2000

I just went into the B&O shop and the man in it was very helpful. He thought that if i bought a 3.5mm to 5 pin din cable i could plug this into the copy input socket. Then if i pressed in the record button inside the tape deck and put the player on record the signal from my ipod would play through into the speakers. Could anyone back him up on this? Would the sound be good? I dont want to buy the cable if its not going to work!

    Thanks,

    Graham
