Avant 32 VHS Randomly whirring - How to disable as no menu?

VHS has started randomly whirring, I dont need it, and have searched all the threads I can find as I cannot seem to be able to disable it.

The Setup 00 Go, menu just shows monitor, tuner and VHS. When i press VHS it just waits them jump back to normal TV. - No other options

Is there a manual way to stop the power to it?

There must be a plug internally though I have not as yet opened the back.

Help please either to a direct link or some great advice.

    Many thanks

    TC

In the service menue of my Avant there was an option "Avant type". There you can choose "Internal VCR" YES or NO.

I have an Avant 28 vhs, and I'm sure the vhs has a scart socket going into the back of the tv - as if it were a seperate unit. If the 32 is the same, what happens if you just unplug the vhs scart?

I'd presume that would then disconnect the video player..?

Yes, it disconnects the VHS PLayer, yet does not power down.

This morning I have taken off rear cover, unscrewed the VHS Player with the Torx screws, taken it out as far as cables allow and found a sneaky small power lead coming from the main power unit. Unplugged power cable going into VHS, yet left all other comm cables except SCART.

    Et Voila!

No more whirrings.  Perfect.  Luckilly mu old Volvo used Torx Bolts, so had a full set of socket type things to undo them.

    Problem Solved!

    Many thanks.
