Guys I have connected an Ipod to my Bm7000, it does sound nice through my Penta's but I have a problem and that is, at low volume the sound quality is not great? It sounds like the speakers are kind of farting, sorry thats the only way I know describing the sound. Do I need to replace all the driver foams? Are these any good?

Post some pics of your surrounds, the problem may be the your Ipod library, if your music is low Kbs files the problem may be there.

Hi Soren
I am pretty sure I have Beolab Penta II, I know I need to change the foams, but am worried as I have never done this type of thing before! I a pretty good at doing fiddly jobs like this but am not sure wheather I trust myself. Firstly how do I get the old foam off the speakers then is it just a case of glueing the new ones in place? These are my questions/worries. Is it pretty easy? And should I buy that kit I have seen on Ebay, that includes foam replacement aswell as Fret material? The issus wants e to place the old grey Frets with some fresh black Frets!!
Hi Leslie
I will get some pictures up as soon as I get my camera back from the missus. Hope you are well? I am about to hunt down your Workbench thread about the White BeoSystem 6500. I am very Interested because I want to buy a complete set very similar! I also want to get beolink 7000 and floor stand, do you know where I could get one of these? I did think about the Ipod recording format/levels, so it could be that, but I defineatly think the foams need replaceing.
Thanks for all your help and advice guys! Nidul

Try this website for replacement foams, and they do a good video showing how easy it is to do. I refoamed my CX50's and the difference is truly amazing. The process is not too difficult but if you are carefull the results are very rewarding.

Nidul,
It is worth doing a search on the forum about the refoaming process, there is a lot to it. There is a lot of material on BeoWorld about this. These threads should answer your questions.

I'll second the replacement foams from goodhifi. I've been able to repair about a dozen speaker pairs without issue using his foam surrounds. Take your time, work slowly and carefully. The video shows exactly how to do it. I use a battery to help center the woofer in the voice coil gap. Never had a problem.
