My First B&O Hi-Fi am excited but got info blanks so need a little guidance and help with Beogram CDX

    Guys,

So I was thinking I have just purchased my first Bang & Olufsen Stereo system.  I won it on Ebay, It consists of a Beocenter 2100, Beogram CDX, and 2 Beovox X25 speakers.Smile Can't wait to get my hands on it, hopefully going to pick up on the weekend. I like the look of the Beogram CDX but the Beocenter 2100 is for me a little dated so I am thinking of replacing it with a Beomaster 3300 which I am thinking maybe a slightly newer amp. I will be selling the other amp and maybe speakers, depending on the future purchase of some Beovox RLs. The reason I am doing this is because I have no need for a tape deck at all. So I think the best replacement amp would be the Beomaster 3300, do you guys think this is a good idea? Also I am thinking of refubishing these units, by repainting the main chassis. The lids will be replaceded with mirror look ones aswell as the the plastic and will be engraved with all the B&O livery so that they will look like exact copies. Any help or advice on this would be greatly appriecieated. Thanks in advance.......

The BM 3000 is a little low on output if you want to run RL 140s, as of changing the design, Leslie on the forum did and do a lot of steel plate and plastic works with engraving, just search the forum and you shal find, and remember if refurbishing, do the electronics too.

I am not not against changing the look of B&O, but I prefere it as close to original I can get.

Beosound 3000, BL 4000, BL 8000, BG 2404,BG 5000, BG CD50, Beocord 5000, BM 901, BM 2400, BM 4000, BV S45, BV 3702. There is nothing we cannot do, but a lot of things we don't want to do!!

    Hi Soren,

I am going to try and keep the refurb as close to original as possible, I just want to freshen up the look of unit a bit , and I have seen what Leslie has done with his units. He truly is an artist and works to a very high standard, if I can accoplish maybe even 10% of what he has done then I would be very happy. Seeing his work is what has inspired me to do some of my own work. I will defo be looking at his posts for tips and info.

I am hoping that this system will link up with my two Avants and MX1500 without any issuses? I have a one bedroom flat so the Avant 32 in the front room with the main system, the Avant 28 in the bedroom and the MX 1500 in the Kitchen all linked up together. I am hoping it will all work together without to much hassle? I do have a question though; Could a MX7000/8000 be used as a computer screen? My new flat is a complete empty shell, no paint or flooring, which means I can do whatever I want. And that means incorporating my B&O goodies properly into the flat hidden wires etc the whole thing is just gonna be one big project, and it all starts this week. Thanks for the input.
