    [^]POST No. 1000[^]

    My post No. 1000Cake

In 2005, I think, I bought a pair of BL 8000 on Ebay USA, before buying I searched the net for cheaper offers and by luck found Beoworld, I signed up as a member, got the information I wanted, I dont think I posted anything at that time, just got my info and more or less forgot about it.

I didn't visit the forum again until July/August 2010, I bought a BM 901 for USD 20.00 +freight some USD 20.00, I just bid on it and after one week got a mail that I had won the auction, now I had to deal with it, and searching the net, again came upon Beoworld, started searching in the forum and got info for my 901, signed up as a silver member and got the manuals for it. I got more interested in vintage B&O ( as a Dane you know what B&O is and stand for).

The 901 arrived and I it played more or less, but a cap change, cleaning and ajustment got it up to date, during this I was searching for speakers and came upon a pair of S45s 83-86, some USD 60.00 shipping included, of cource I checked the bay for other B&O items and there it was, a beautiful BM 2400, bid, bought and it was a good complement to my BG 2404 that I bought back in 2000 to play my vinyl through my BS 3000 with BM 4000. The S45s came without stands, checked the forum and found the meusurements and made a pair in my workshop.

As I got a lot of help from the forum, in September 2010 I signed up as a gold member, and in October I wonn a B&O golf cap, golf balls and golf tees in the price draw

Came 2011 and think the BeoVirus got me, needed a second set of speakers to use with either the 901 or the 2400. bought a pair of BV 3702 and run into a BG 5000 I just had to have.

I refurbished, cleaned and tried all posible combinations with speakers and all the recievers I had, bought an Onkyo to distribute everything, the BS 3000 and the BL 4000 was channeled to my son, and I kept the BL 8000 and used the S 45s as surround, again I was missing a pair of speakers and bought from Jaff a pair of BV 3000 flat panel. Last buy is a BM 4000, so now again I am a pair of speakers short, and come to think of it one more BG.  I am infected with the BeoVirus allright.

Now the fabric selector (Richs synonym for wife) started small protests and I have to wait a little before I get more vintage.

The last year I have changed surrounds on speakers, refurbished crossovers, BMs, BGs made speakerstands, made wall plates for RL 140, reforbished for a friend a complete Beosystem 6500 with RL 140s all in white, commented on posts, participated in interesting discutions and most of all, found a lot of helpful people, some of these I call my freinds (but can you call someone a freind if you never met in person??).

With this long post I want to say thank you to the Beoworld founders and managers, the forum members that helped me, the forum members at all for a fantastic forum that you wont find anywhere else.

To new members. Show your location, its easier to help if we know where you are located, if you get help and/or solutions for your problems, follow up with results, we do like to see if our remarks did help. And please do not use the chat or instant massage langauge, a lot of members do not have English as a mother langauge and the shorts and synonyms are unknown to us.

I've still got a bit to go to reach 1000.

May I recommend that pair of S40s that need a refoam for your missing set of speakers?

    Current primary listening:  SMMC20EN -> BG4002 -> BM4000 -> Beovox M70

    Congratulations Soren

It is posts like this that make all of us friends !

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

    Absolutely, yes!

I've got people here on BeoWorld who make me laugh on a weekly basis even more than some of my physical friends do!

At the end of the day - yes, this is an enthusiasts site with the main aim of exchanging information on our favourite brand.  However, it's constantly more than that..  I laugh at posts from very funny people, I marvel at posts from very intelligent people - and I read with great interest the disagreements people have (as long as they are civil !).

This, without a doubt, is the most helpful and friendly site i've ever found on the net.

It's an absolute pain in the, sorry, pleasure to run along with the moderating team who feel the same. Big Smile

I'm cant totally agree, for me a friend is someone I can meet once in while, give a hug (we men here in Mexico hugs), drink a beer or what so ever, but the WWW has changed all that I think. But yes, I do have the same feelings for some of the forum members, as I have for my other friends, so maybe its just me, not integrating fast enough in this fast information highway.
