AST and two different center speakers

    Hi,

Setup: 4 speakers, one in each corner, TV with center speaker on wall 1 - projector screen and a new center speaker on wall 2 (rotated 90 deg exactly). In the old setups you had TV-center and cinema center power link sockets on the TV/BS3 - but this went missing when AST was introduced, and you could rotate the speaker assignments with 90 deg for the cinema setting.

Anyone with any listening experience with AST in a setup like this? You can only set the TV speaker (BL7-6) as center speaker, on the other wall (90 deg to the left) is a projector screen with 2 x BL4k as center. These can only be identified as "BL 4k" in the setup menu and you have to enter the distance to them and the other speakers, and the AST will use all speakers to give you surround.

The AST seem able to somehow switch between the two center speakers going from TV to Cinema, but I am not sure that the usage of other main speakers (BL5 & 9) are spot on - which they were with the old way of setting it up without the AST. And, no, setting AST to OFF will not give you a second center PL/speaker to select.

Are you happy with your "90 deg rotated" AST TV/cinema setups?

    Roger
