    Beolab 8000 & BL 5000 installation

    Hi guys,

Just wanted to share some of my new speakers at my restaurant Albatros.

    Enjoy.

    First BL8000;

The metal bases has been removed, and the speakers are bolted through the wooden shelf. (using the original bolt that was fastened to the metal base)

    Second minty BL5000.

I had custom brackets made, so that they are fastened to the wooden pillars instead of the wall.

    Thanks for looking!

    -Andreas

Brilliant Smile The BL5000 bracket is clever!

If you ever feel a need to improve something, I would route the cabling of the BL5000s up behind the speakers, then to the side and down along the pillars - that way you could move the white cable channels away from the stone wall.

Agree with Mika, but a perfect place for the 5000s, and I love the 8000s way up there, just beautiful, congratulations.

Fantastic Andreas. Cool I like the way you mounted the 8000's to the shelf with the original bolt. Yes - thumbs up Also clever use of the pillars instead of the wall for mounting the 5000's.

Yep, and use black cables; then as soon as they reach the left resp. right white pole mount the cable channels to the white pillar instead; they will be more hidden...

Aren't the BL5000 the wrong way round?

Same issue I have with mine, shouldn't the 'speaker' side of the unit be in the middle and not on the outside?

    Why??

You can hang whichever way you like. Just change the L - R switch on the back.

Isn't there meant to be a better 'spread' of the sound due to the speakers being further away from the side walls, so less 'bounce' back?

    all non-teckie speak there! LOL

    Who told you that !!!!!

If B&O thought that, they would not have put the  switches on the back?

The installation instructions say that you can mount them whichever way suits your fancy!

Exactly, I hung them this way (after testing both ways) because it looked more balanced with the painting.
