    B&O Grand Prix radio / side table ? ... which model?

    Available at Lauritz.com under 'furniture'. I couln't find the model, so now I am curious to learn what it is.

    Yes, that's a funny one.

    It looks like a Dirigent which, I believe, it basically is but it reads Grand Prix on the dial.

    It is the radio part from a Grand Prix TV 609K  Radio/TV combination where the TV part
    was cut away and the speakers (strangely) mounted underneath.
    The plastic backside has obviously been cut from the larger cabinet to fit this slim one and
    the chassis will live a warm life in there.

    A nice piece but not original like this.
    It's not unusual to see radio chassis' "rescued" from dead TV sets like this.

    I believe that Frede (Classic) has a similar set only in a different and smaller cabinet.

    A dirigent type reciever is the one thing I really want for my collection. I love the fact that it has modern looks yet is a valve set.
