    Problem controlling Pioneer KRP 500 Plasma screen

    Hi guys

    I have a lintronic box which I would like to only use for decoding signals and the send them directly from the BEO5 to the different products I wish to control. I use the lintronic box to learn signals and convert to an xml file for the BEO config tool to use.

    The problem: For some reason this procedure does NOT work when trying to control my pioneer screen. If sent via the lintronic box then no problem but when I try to get it onto the remote, there is no response. Any idea what to do ?

    If you provide me with a few of your captured Pioneer codes from the Lintronic box I will convert them into a working XML file for you to test. Then you will be able to see how it is done.

    The Beoworld XML Generator ONLY converts Lintronics codes to RAW format which is effectively an image copy which is fine for static protocols, but cannot be used for dynamic protocols.

    Re: Problem controlling Pioneer KRP 500 Plasma screen

    I used the same approach with my Pioneer C509A plasma - Lintronic box to learn codes, Lintronic software to create XML for Beo5.

    What I found was that I needed to manually trim the timings recorded by the Lintronic box, for each button on the Pioneer remote, to ensure that the correct signal length was recorded. To make sure I'd done this properly, I would retest the recorded/saved command by sending it to the TV from the Lintronic box, and double check that it operated the TV.

    See page 12 of http://www.lintronic.dk/BEO5.pdf for the procedure.

    Once I had the full set of commands double checked in this way, I then created the XML file with the Lintronic software, which works fine with the Beo5.

    Enter = 727170040000000000000003

    EPG =227170091175036000000003

    Power =727170028000000000000003

    It is really strange that I can now test the raw code through the lintronic box and the code works but when i get it on the BEO5 it doesnt work. Looking forward to hear if you can help

    Re: Problem controlling Pioneer KRP 500 Plasma screen

    Another issue I came across in generating an XML file for my Pioneer plasma (solved by Keith at the time) was to do with the very early firmware version on my Beo5. The Lintronic software writes out the carrier freq to the XML file as 38 for 38kHz. However, my firmware version required this to be written as 38000. Manually editing the XML file to make this change solved the problem.

    Not sure if this is relevant, but you could always check it.

    As you have a Lintronic box, then you should capture the IR codes from the original remote.

    I suggest you download my help file HERE
