How to set up Beoport for Mac

    Hi

I have some trouble with the Beoport. I got the Beoport PC and connected it with my Mac Snowleopard.

    I also downloaded the software.

But I can't control iTunes. How is it possible? I have a Beo4 with Joystick and the IR eye with no lables. I think I wired it corretly becuase the red light is on. I also set up A.Opt 2.

But I can't control iTunes. What do I have to do?

    Thank you!

It all depends upon what you mean by "control".

BMLINK allows you to use [N.Music] and [N.Radio] commands from your Beo4 to "talk" to iTunes to:

    a) play music from your iTunes collection, skip tracks, and switch between blue, yellow, red etc modes

    b) play music from internet radio stations you have defined in iTunes under a playlist of "N.RADIO"

So was BMLink the software you downloaded ?

And what type of Mac are you using (Macbook, MacMini, etc) ?

And have you plugged the BeoPort into (1) the audio headphone jack and (2) the USB port ?

If you want more "control" than what I just described then you probably should take a look at Philippe's LinkPlayer ....

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Re: How to set up Beoport for Mac

I tried with an Windows PC with BeoPlayer. Everything works fine. But with my Mac I can't control iTunes. (Skip tracks, etc.

I have an MacPro with Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I connected the Beoport to mac via USB. The audio is connected via Jack not from headphone. It goes into Audio In in Beoport. I also connected the IR Eye. It is also connected to the mains. ;-)

I downloaded the newest version of BMLink.

    What is Philippe's LinkPlayer?

    Thank you

Now that is working perhaps you don't need this temptation :)
