    CX100 vs. BL6000

Dear all, I have quick question for the ones who owned/listened to both speakers: how would a pair of Beovox CX100 (driven by a decent amp) compare to a pair of Beolab 6000? In terms of detail, warmth and bass? Thanks and regards, js

    Re: CX100 vs. BL6000

In my opinion, neither of these speakers are true hi-fi. However both have their place.

The CX100 does not have much bass - not a huge surprise for such a small speaker but sounds very acceptable - I think if positioned correctly, it passes muster as a good close field speaker - I use a pair with a Beomaster 5500 and it compared not unfavourably with a pair of BL3s! Nice detail and can play very loud without appearing to strain. Also gives a nice stereo image.

The BL6000 was designed a rear speakers for the AV9000 system. They fill the role as rear speakers admirably, being unobtrusive and stylish at the same time. Not so impressed either with detail or bass reproduction though and they shriek at higher volumes. I much prefer BL4000s though from a statistics point of view, these should be pretty similar. However lots of people like them and this goes to show that speakers are very much an individual taste and one should listen to the speakers rather than other people's opinions!!  Laughing

    Thanks Peter, this is helpful.

Of course, always!! Yet your opinion is a useful first indication whether it is worth a further investigation.

    Kind regards, js
