    CX100's or Beovox Panel's

We're adding speakers to the dining room off an amp which is controlled by an active kit. Room is 4.5 X 6 meters.

We have found both a set of CX100's and a set of Beovox 3000 (panel's).

What are the sound qualities, differences, etc??

Anyone heard both at similar times??

    Thanks,

    Re: CX100's or Beovox Panel's

I have had both in a similar sized room.

Both are lacking bass, so you need to add a Cona or use Vox 5000's instead of the 3000's (the latter was my solution).

If you have to select between those I would go to the 3000's. The sound is slightly deeper (depending on the wall materiel) and esthetics speak for panels as well. This is a matter of taste of course.

I have Beovox 3000 in my dining room and they are just fine, as you say they generally will be at low level background music when eating.

I have both at the moment. The 3000 are probably warmer and more "easy listening" while the CX's are more cold and clinical.

Depends what type of sound you like in that particular situation.

    Regards Graham

Interesting choices different people have for dining room speakers.
As a general rule, dining rooms are not used for serious listening, but more for light, background music.
In my dining room I have some Beovox S30s in rosewood from the late seventies. They are perfectly suited for their purpose and show no signs of deterioration. I just love them. (and my new white 7000 has passive outputs!)

    Poor me, never win owt!
