BV 8 Automatic Picture Control sensor: how to switch it OFF?

The contrast of my BV8-32 is far to low when I watch TV in darkness; how can I switch of this auto-contrast feature? It is not possible in the regular menu; can anyone give me a code for the service menu?

    thanx in advance from Amsterdam,

    I would use ...

    1. [DTV]
    2. [MENU]
    3. [MENU]
    4. scroll to 'CONNECTIONS' (but don't select)
    5. 0
    6. 0
    7. (GO)
    8. select 'MONITOR'
    9. select 'PICTURE ADJUSTMENTS'
    10. select 'Picture adjustments'
    11. select "Auto picture control"

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

iThank you for your reply. I tried it, but I nothing happens after I pushed the zero's in step 5 and 6; I can't enter this 'Monitor-menu.

It is a BV 8-32, perhaps the discribed steps are the BV8-40?

I've heard that there is a servicecode for the bv8-32; can anyone help me with that?

    Thanks in advance,

    I have a BV8-32 myself.

I just repeated the instructions shown above.

    They worked for me.

The important thing is to scroll down to CONNECTIONS but do *NOT* press (GO), press 0, then 0 again, then (GO).

    I hope that helps ....

Something was wrong with my remote control, but by using the one from my other tv, it works!

I switched the auto-contrast mode Off and the picture is now, even in darkness, clear enough to enjoy.

mr. Elephant, thank you so much for your help!

A pleasure - glad you have got there !

Shows that even when one needs only one remote ("to rule them all") that it pays to have a back-up/spare !
