Powerlink cables - from Beosound 4 to Beolab 8000!

    Hi

I have a question about the powerlink cables!

The cables that are included in the Beolab 8000 box are very thin.

Is it possible to buy new powerlink cables (who arent that thin) that will provide more/better signal

from Beosound 4 to Beolab 8000..?

I know that cables are very importent when you buy other brands, is it also so for Bang & Olufsen..?

    Regards

    Mathias

It is neither necessary or possible to buy thicker powerlink cables to give more/better signals. The signal is already at it's optimum level for active speakers.

The newer cables have additional wires in them, that are not used to carry sound. That is why they are thicker.

Other brands use passive speakers. The cable carries an amplified signal, that is why you need a BIG cable.

For B&O the signal isn't amplified and goes fine though thin cables.

    Thank's for the replies.!

Is there a golden rule when it comes to the placement for the Beolab 8000's?

My stands about 8 cm from the wall with no corner/wall near, so they play in a

open area, the settings is bass -3 treble +2 loudness off!

They sound quite hard, not bad, but with a lot of bass.

Not a golden rule, but generally having a speaker that close to the wall is bad (unless it's a wall speaker, of course Wink )

Try different locations, the BL8000's are fortunately very easy to move... if you still have boomy bass everywhere, the problems is probably your room and not the speakers.

Suggest you check that the tweeters are working.

I have used BL8000 in all sorts of situations but could never describe them as having "lots" of bass unless the tweeters are not working!

My BL8000's and BS4 are bought brand new, I bought them 28/10-2009 and have

only been used them since 11/11-2009! The tweeter's are working fine... Is this better Stick out tongue

What I mean was, I have checked every membran. Becouse I have a bad

experience from a B&W 705 speaker - the right tweeter was damaged from factory!!
