How to activate "A.AUX" on a BS4 in a link setup

    Hello

    I need help.

I just bought a BeoSound 4 (from 2006) and installed it in my active link system. Before I had a BeoSound 3000 in the same setup. I have connected a PC to the AUX at the BeoSound.

In the old set-up, I could activate the AUX from a link room by pressing "A.TAPE" on the Beo4 ....... this is NOT possible on the BeoSound 4.

If the "A.AUX" is chosen on the BS4, I can press "volumen+/-" on the Beo4 or manually press "on" at the active link-eye. But if the source is not activatet at the BS4 .... I can not access this source from a link room.

    How to fix this?

I have no direct answer, but solved a similar problem at home: activating A.AUX on BeoSound Ouverture from the link room. Using a Beolink 1000 instead of Beo4 I press PHONO which works the same as A.AUX.

    ... but this unfortunately doesn't work on BS4. §:-( ....... neither does "A.TAPE"

I just did a small test with my BS 4 and a Beo 4.

A.AUX started the BS 4 in the main room, and I then put it in standby (red dot).

A.AUX from the Beo 4 starts the BS 4 from a BV8 link room. Again I put it in standby.

A.AUX from the Beo 4 starts the BS4 from a BeoActive BeoWireless link room as well.

I was also able to perform this last test with a Beolink 1000 control: just press "SHIFT" + "RADIO" to activate the BS 4's A.AUX.

    Hope that helps !

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

If you have a BL active, it depends on the SW to make A.AUX work - as far as I know. We had a thread here some time ago. As far as I remember you need SW 1.6, SW1.1 and 1.3 won`t work. A.TAPE won`t work, because this should activate the internal SD card player (but should be possible to activate from a linkroom BL active...?).

Maybe N.RADIO (PHONO) doesn`t work, because the BS4 is N.MUSIC compatible and "expects" to start up a BS5....

Which audio devices (CD, RADIO...) can you activate via the BL active? Is your BL active set to L.OPT 5 or 6?

Have you added A.Aux to your Beo4?

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

apologies, my mistake, I was tired - I tested in my BeoWireless link room not the BeoLink Active.

correct, and yes it does activate the SD Card (A.MEM)

... or a BeoPort and its attached Windows or Apple Mac PC/laptop

BeoLink Active and BeoLink Passive from SW 1.5 on can handle the "A.AUX" command or, if you
    prefer a BL 1000, "Shift" + "Radio" ...

I assume that the BS4 is in A.Option 2 or 0 (If is connected to your TV).

    Best regards
