any improvements on controlling eyeTV ? (on BV8 with Beo4)

I have started using my macBook's EyeTV for more than back capture of family VHS tapes ... such as listening to FM or Digital Radio:

I was delighted to find that the Beo4 exercised some controls the EyeTV via the BeoPort such as performing a "record now" function or calling up this program schedule and booking a recording:

However the Beo4 was not consistent ... I found this thread http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/8543.aspx?PageIndex=1 which described an approach to controlling Max OSX applications.

Has any one had similar experiences, got new information or new ideas ?

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

For example ... is there Beo5 support for EyeTV or for the BV8 IR to the Apple Mac that allows control of the EyeTV
