My five new toys....................by Andy T.

Most of you know that I spent last week driving down to Bellac in France with Peter, to collect some B&O gear.
Due to the over whelming kindness of Peter, I came home with five 'new' toys, and here is a photo' of the first (in no particular order)
What do you think it is?
Please don't spill the beanz if you are called Lee, Matt, Peter, Craig, Jo, Jo, Carol or Charlene!

    Bit more than a sign!
Yes, it's got a lead coming out of it, (well actually two leads now) but what's that on top?

Re: My five new toys....................by Andy T.

    Ok guys.
It's an Auto Demo unit, but not just for speakers.
A really fun item, when you press the button on top, it starts a ten minute demo of everything. Lights, CD, Video, audio tape, radio and TV.
It has an interchangeable IC that can be changed as and when new products were introduced.
As it is from 1990, the chip I have was for LX TVs and VX5000 VCRs and the 5500 system (I think). It would have come with a pre-recorded video and audio tape that would have had some sort of narrative, explaining to the potential customer what was happening at the time.
Perhaps when I get a Round Tuit, I might make my own tapes, that should be fun!!

By the way, it can do things that none of my many remotes can do. For example
Eject and re-load a CD in my CD7000
Open and close the drawer of my Beocord 7000
Eject a V tape from my Avant, but sadly can't reload it . (If I remember correctly, a VX5000 could suck the tape back in)
Drop the volume from 54 to 36 in an instant, without graduation.
Dim one light and brighten another simultaneously and slowly.

A huge thankyou to Peter for this item, I love it.  Also to Lee, for courier-ing this to my home (No room in the Prius)

Any dealers have any A Tapes, V Tapes or ICs for this unit in the back-shop? PM me please.

Heh wow Andy that's neat.  I'd love to be able to get my hands on a schematic and try to build a replica of the circuit.  Doubt anyone would have such a thing lying around though lol.

    Ok,
Maybe not quite as interesting to many of you, but the second one is this Beocord 1500. It came in it's box and is, as you can see, mint!
I already have a Beomaster 1500 to match it and a Beogram 1102 and some Beovox S30s.
All together this makes up a Beosystem 1500, and I was just missing this Beocord 1500, so I am, as you would imagine, absolutely delighted! Thanks Peter.

Very nice Andy, good system the 1500. We used to have a Beocenter 4600 which is basicaly a Beosystem 1500 in one unit. Sounds very nice through S45's.
