A strange remote ... something remotely strange ?

    Strange BEO4 remote

Has anyone seen one of these BEO4s before ?

It has a reduced set of lettered keys at the top with two labelled "MyMusic" and "MyPC".

Any ideas of its use, history, ... et cetera ?

I seen one a bit like that one on a Hotel on Funen, Denmark, it operated the Bv6-22 in the room but the remote only had 3 large wide buttons at the top.

How does it work? I mean how does it function, with those buttons? And does it mute when you press the middle, because to me, this looks like it's possible that it's a fake?  :O

Definitely not a fake, i've seen one of these before somewhere.

I think they are a Hotel Version.

the hotel beo 4's must be custom made, because the media cenre shows images of two different types of hotel remotes

I guess it depends on the equipment in the hotel.
The one in your picture Dave is obviously from a hotel that does not supply an audio system.

Interestingly it was in the box with the BV8-32 that arrived yesterday.

The family has been using the existing BEO4.

I am not sure how to guide them through testing this one from halfway across the world.

It could of course be that just the labels change, and not the wiring nor the IR codes.

An update from a remote control test (pun intended):

MyPC .. activates PC on the BV8

    MyMusic .. activates A.MEM on the BV8

    Definitely a hotel remote.

As other members write this is a remote for hotels. There are a number of versions with different rubber mat and software (configuration) and it is an obvious mistake that you have received one of these. As far as I remember all the hotel versions has "volume" written between the vol_up and vol_down buttons as hotel guests often do not know B&O and therefore had problems locating the volume button. Normally (if not always) these remote features a MUTE button for the same reason as the "volume" text.
