    Beovision 7 linking to MX4000 and Sky+

    Hi all,
I have just moved house, and trying to setup my multi-room B&O system again I have a few questions that I would be grateful for any advice on:

I have a Beovision 7 (with 8000 & 6000 speakers) and a Beosound 9000 - I can set these up OK in the same room. I've also inherited an old MX4000 (without built-in beolink) - how do I connect the MX4000 to the system to watch TV and listen to music in a different room?

I can't get Freeview in the new house (I had a freeview STB before), and so I'm thinking of a Sky+ box on the back of the Beovision 7 controlled by the Beo4 via PUC - does that work OK, and should I be able to control it from the MX4000 if I get it linked?
    Thanks
    David

    Hi,

you will need a Beolink Video Converter, a masterlink-cable and an coax cable to your MX room. Connect the masterlink to the ML socket of the BL Video, a 7pin DIN cable to the BL Video and the other end to AUDIO AUX LINK socket on the MX 4000. Connect the antenna cable to the MX - you will need the RL Link amplifier for the BV7. In this setup you can access all audio- and video devices (except PC) in the main room. It is also possible to watch a video source in the MX room and listen to an audio source in another linkroom.

    Welcome to Beoworld.

    Hi Stefan,

Thanks for the quick response, and the welcome (I can't believe that I've only just found this forum - I've been expanding my B&O collection for 18 years!). I have the masterlink cable and connectors, and the coax cable (yet to venture under the floor, but it looks accessible).

Is there a particular model of Beolink Video Converter that I need (I can see there are several types - 1611, 1614, 1615)?

What is the RL Link Amplifier?

    Thanks,
    David

    David,

I got my first Beocenter, a BC 9500, 20 years ago. Today I have 9 audiosystems (6 active), 5 Beovisions and a lot of links...

The Beolink Video is 1615. Maybe you can find one second live. They are cheap, because MX Beovisions are not often used anymore....

Sorry, actually it`s called RF link amplifier. Part-No. is 4052/4053, about 100 Euro. The amplifier improves picture quality on your link TVs. Connect it in the coax between BV7 (master) and your link TV (MX4000).

    Hope this helps.

    Stefan

    Hi Nicky,
No problem - how much are you after for it?
