    Virgin V+ Control via Beo4

    Hi All

I have the latest STB-C on my Avant with table version 4.01 for West Europe. As Keith has said on other threads, I need to select 'G Sci Atl DVR' as the source so as to control the V+ box with my Beo4.

However, I can't seem to control a lot of the functions, especially how to get into my recordings!

Can anyone advise me of what buttons on the V+ remote map to the Beo4 buttons?

    Thanks

Hi. I have been told that V+ won't work with Beo4. I think the only solution is that you need to buy a Beo5 remote and get it prgrammed. But it might be problematic to program it, I don't know. Peter on this board is kindly helping me look into this.

Re: Virgin V+ Control via Beo4

I contacted B&O directly and they have confirmed that the V+ box is not supported!

I'm a bit annoyed as my dealer supplied the latest chip (4.01) on the basis that it would work!

I'm now stuck in a contract with Virgin (would move to Sky otherwise) so I have to find a solution.

I considered the Beo5 but I assume that won't help me control the V+ from one of my linked rooms since it will control it directly?

Controlling the Virgin V+ with the Beo5 is no problem provided you have line of sight or an infra-red extender.

So, in my view your options are:-

    1. Purchase a Lintronic box and use it to map codes from an existing STB code in the AVANT to the Virgin V+ requirements which would allow it to work in a link room.
    2. Purchase a Beo5 and an IR extender so you can use it in the link room as well.

    Regards Keith....

With Option 2 which IR Extender would you recommend?

Re: Virgin V+ Control via Beo4

I had my Virgin+ box placed behind my BV 7-40 and secured vertically behind the screen.

I'm waiting for my dealer to email me the Beo4 commands for Virgin+, I have only found following on Beo4 ......

    Go+3 = favourites tv guide

Go+4 = programme info (of station being viewed)

    Go+6 = pause

    Go+7 = V+ recording

    Go+8 = Instant recording

I will chase the dealer Tue but if anybody else finds any info - pse add to this forum item - Thank youWink

The 7-40 should be more capable as it uses a different STB-C system which can be upgraded via the service tool. The Avant requires a new chip - which is at present not available.
