The sad fact is that very few of us recognise how good these sets are so I think their value will only fall. Only a couple of months ago I brought an immaculate BV3-32 (2001) on its stand from a private seller for only 400 euro. I was amazed that they had "upgraded" to a HD ready Phillips TV.
The picture on the BV3 is wonderful (once the brigthness, contrast & colour of the BV3 were changed back to the default values), especially from a RGB freesat source.
I have now been quoted 445 euro to upgrade to DTS (parts only) by my local dealer but I think I will wait and try and aquire another BV3 complete with DTS as it would probably cost about the same.
A further problem is that the picture quality of full HD sets has and will continue to improve whilst the price will continue to fall. I would not spend 1500ukp on a 5 year old second hand TV when I could buy a new HD TV with full 2 year guarentee with as good a picture as an Avant for about half that amount.
I suspect that the value of an Avant RF 32 DVD will eventually stabilise around the 350 - 450 ukp mark over the space of the next year.
