Beocenter 5000 to quiet!

Hi all. I have just got a Beocenter 5000(1984) and was very excited to get out all my old vinyl. But when it was all plugged in, it was so quiet. I was hoping to wake up the street! Am i missing something?

Please help me.

Have you tried the speaker switches under the large aluminum lid ?
