    Very Strange BM8000 Tuning Problem

I recently started having a strange tuning problem on my BM8000.  I programmed the presets in frequency order (P1=88.9, P2=93.7, P3=94.1, etc).  When the BM8000 is off and I press one of the presets the system turns on and is tuned to that frequency.  BUT, if I press the preset for 88.9 I get a non-tuned frequency hum, like it's between stations.  If I turn the tuning dial no stations will tune in.  I have to turn the system off, press a different preset, then I can select the preset for 88.9 and it works fine.

If the system is off and I press any other preset, the system turns on and is tuned to that frequency and I can listen to that station.  If I reprogram the presets so that 88.9 is not P1, I still get the same result, it will not tune in.  Whatever preset 88.9 is set to, the system turns on but will not tune to that station.  I have to press a different preset, then I can press the one for 88.9.

I have tried setting the Tuning between Auto and Manual and it makes no difference.

    Ideas?

Probably bad connectors or cracked solders on the processor and display boards, where they meet and where the ribbon cables go to the processor board. Resolder the lot and reseat the plugs.

Thanks!  Will give it a try.  Seems strange it only happens with that frequency though.

If one bit is missing ...
Anyway, that would be the first thing I would check. Then power supply stability, capacitors etc...
