    BeoVox S 120's

Can anyone lend some info on Speaker repair. I have a pair of S120's that go with a BeoMaster 8000 system I'm in the process of getting up and running and the woofer surrounds are SHOT and one woofer dome is colapsed. Is there any help in restoring these older speakers, the boxes are still really is great shape.

Well worth doing - S120s are one of the best passive speakers made by B&O. Either do it yourself or get a company to do it. I canno recommend one - Recone in the UK has stopped doing it - but an internet search revealed this in the US.

My pair of white edition Beovox S120 wakes me up in the morning and I do enjoy them big time.

Dillen rebuild them a few months ago along with a pair of S80.2 also white edition.

It's worth it. Even if you don't like them afterwards you have given them 20 years more of life.

Remember to give the filters an overhaul. Some caps should be changed to keep them sounding fresh.

    Re: BeoVox S 120's

Have contacted a speaker rebuild business here in the states and have things underway, thanks Dillon. I removed the woofer from the first speaker this morning, what a beautiful site, the insides were sparkling clean, its going to cost me $35 per surround and although I'd like to give it a try myself I can hardly go wrong with that price. Restored the ever so slight scratches with OLD English furnisher stain, its amazing the boxes look all but brand new. I was hoping to find a set up stands for these as it only seems right they should be alittle bit off the ground. Will look on Ebay, will 45 stands work???? Thanks again for all your help I'll post a photo when I have the speakers and Beomaster 8000 system (capacitor kit on the way, thanks Martin) restored back to its glory.

     Best regards,

     Dave

And a good job you did too Andy, having heard them in person the day I picked up a nice pair of MC120s from Southport :)
